Free Twitter and Facebook Blog Buttons

You may have noticed that I have a new button on my sidebar...a twitter button!  Yes, that's right, I'm on Twitter now!   Tweet tweet!  Just another way to follow!

I made my button to match my facebook button, and shrunk them a little...

twitter facebook

I thought they came out rather nice.

Since I used a free graphic from The Graphics Fairy to make the bird silhouette, I thought it would be nice to "pay it forward" a little and pass on some freebies to you. So, I made the following blog graphics which are a little less Scribbleprints-centric. These are free to use on your blog or website.   To do this right click on the pictures below and save them to your computer, then upload them to your blog or server or a free graphics storage site like PhotoBucket .

You can find the original Oriole graphic I used
to create the Twitter bird The Graphic Fairy.

The graphic did not start in silhouette.
Here is that graphic with the background removed,
and then changed into a silhouette.

You notice I removed the leaves and added a leg on (the bird looked one-legged in silhouette without it). The added leg really changes the look of the bird...makes him look like he's sitting on top of a branch in stead of dangling under it. I also changed the branch a little bit. This was actually my first idea...I made the branch longer for my buttons.

You are welcomed to use these for your own graphics projects or whatever. You can click on them for slightly larger versions.   If you use them online a link back to me ( ) and The Graphics Fairy ( somewhere on your page would be appreciated, but is not required.  Of course, all of the other graphics on this blog are off limits, unless of course you are using them to help promote my site or products, or I've otherwise specifically given you permission.

Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday! Every Friday (well, ok, almost every Friday) I ask a simple question--nothing that requires a lengthy response.

I just reached over 100 followers on my blog, which I'm thrilled about (you'll see on my sidebar I'm having a blog party to celebrate). But I also know that clicking "follow" doesn't mean you actually "follow," and that you can follow many many ways without following through blogger or google connect. I do follow a lot of blogs through blogger, but I only check these occassionally. The blogs I visit the most I either have their URL memorized, or I put links to them on my sidebar, or on a "homepage" that is my start page when I open my browser.

So, here's my questions for you today.

  • When you really want to keep up with a blog, how do you follow them (bookmarking, google friend connect, making them your homepage, memorizing the URL)?

Please leave your answer in a comment below.  And, if you have a blog and would like to post your own question you can leave your link at and An Island Life and Auntie E.

CafePress Marketplace vs. My Shops

My products sold through CafePress can be found both in my shops and in the CafePress marketplace.   There are some differences between the shopping experience of these two places, which I talk about below.

Most Items Cost Less In My Shop!
Even though I generally earn more on items sold through my shop, you usually pay less!  Some items, like ornaments and tile coasters are drastically less!

A Few Items Are Often Less In the Marketplace
You can find products with my designs in the CafePress marketplace by searching under scribbleprints (for artistic designs) or galesgiggles (for humorous designs).  Prices fluctuate in the marketplace and I don't have control over them, but the following are usually less there.
But Sales Can Change Everything
While the regular prices are usually much more in the marketplace, sales there often bring prices much lower.  That's why I often blog about marketplace sales.   Unfortunately, coupons good in the marketplace don't work in my shops.
In the marketplace CafePress sets the prices and I get a flat 10% commission.  In my shops, CafePress sets a base price I can't go under, but I set my own mark-up above that, and so get more control over how things are priced.   There are some items offered in the marketplace for less than the minimum mark-up on those products in my shop, so I can't go under them.  Also, marketplace prices fluctuate, so if I tried to make my own prices match theirs I'd spend all my time on that, which would be no fun at all.

In the marketplace, some items in my shop are not available (like my best priced T-Shirt, the Value Tee).

Aloha Friday/Two Question Thursday - Blog Party!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday! Every Friday (well, ok, almost every Friday) I ask a simple question--nothing that requires a lengthy response.  I'm combining this with Two Question Thursday (same idea...only TWO questions).

This month I'm celebrating reaching 100 followers on my blog! I'm holding a party with some fun games and giveaways (you're welcomed to join in, even if you're not a follower!).

    So, here's today's questions:
    1. Have you ever held a blog party?  If so, what for and what did you do in it?
    2. If you haven't, what would you do a blog party for?  And what would you do in it?

Please leave your answer in a comment below.  And, if you have a blog and would like to post your own question you can leave your link at Two Question Thursday and An Island Life and Auntie E.

100 Followers Party! Time to Celebrate!

Guess what!  Scribblprints has 100 followers!  I thought THAT was a reason to celebrate so I'm throwing a blog party!  You don't have to be a follower to join in (because I know people follow me in different ways...some of which there's no way for me to keep track of.).

I have some fun games and giveaways planned!  Everyone who participates in my party games gets a chance to win one of my fun party favors (winners choice)!  Here's a sample of what you can win:

Inner Child Button buttonFire Leaf Card cardSleep Deprived Parent Stickers - Red sticker

Here's all the fun ways to win:
    1. Leave a comment on this post and let me know you've joined the party!  If you were sent from another site or invited by a friend tell me their name or URL and if you win they get a party favor too!
    2. Play the fun Something in Common Game
    3. Join in on some Chit Chat
    4. Color a Scribbleprint
    5. Invite a friend, and leave your info here.

So join in and have fun!   And welcome to the party!

Blog Party - Something in Common Game & Giveaway

I'm holding a little party to celebrate getting 100 followers!  And what's a party without some fun party games!

The "Something in Common" game is a fun way to find out about each other.  It is played like this:

The first person tells three random things about themselves.
IF the second person has something in common with the first, they will copy paste that thing into a comment and add  two other random things about themselves.
The next person does the same thing.

    Here's a little demonstration

    1st person:
    I like pizza
    I have brown hair
    I am double jointed

    2nd person
    I have brown hair
    I live in Arizona
    I love opera

    3rd person
    I love opera
    I'm an artist
    I've been to 23 countries

I will be the first person (you can see my comment below).  You can play as many times as you want, but you can't play twice in a row--you have to wait until one other person goes before commenting again.  One commenter will be chosen November 1 to win one of my party favors listed here.    You're welcomed to keep playing after that, but it'll just be for fun then...not for a prize.  I'll be playing too, but of course my comments won't count for prizes either.  The winner will be posted on this blog Nov 2nd.

So have fun and join the game!

    Blog Party - Chit Chat

I'm having a party to celebrate reaching 100 followers!  And a party would be pretty boring without a little chit chat!   Plus, I'd really like to learn a little more about you all!  Answer any of the questions below for a chance to win one of my fun party favors.  Answer more than one and for extra chances to win (answer in separate comments please, or it only counts as one entry).  You DON'T have to answer all of them, or answer in any particular order.
    1. How did you discover Scribblprints?
    2. What's your favorite color (or colors)?
    3. What's your favorite quote?
    4. Tell me more about yourself (anything you want to tell me).
    5. Have you visited any of my shops
    6. If so, whats your favorite design of mine?
    7. What suggestions do you have for my shops?  New products, designs, other colors for current designs, etc?
    8. And how about this blog?  Any suggestions? (Things I should add, do more of, do less of?)
    9. Do you have a question you'ld like to ask me?  Ask away!   (I'll be posting up answers after the party).
Winner will be chosen Nov 1.  If you don't leave a way for me to contact you (e-mail or blog URL where I can post a comment) you'll need to stop by this blog Nov 2nd to see if you won.  Winners who claim their prize first will get first choice, and winners who don't claim their prize within a week will forfeit it.

    Invite a Friend

Want to invite a friend to the Scribbleprints Blog Party?  Please do!  Then leave a comment below so I can enter you in this giveaway just for people who spread the word.  PLUS, when someone tells me you invited them in their comment on the main Blog Party post, if they win a prize, so do you!

Click here to see what you and your friends could win

OK, here's how you can share and win...

Remember, when you share about the party on your blog, not only do you get an entry here , but when someone mentions you sent them in their Blog Party Post comment, you BOTH get a prize if they win.
    1. Blog about the Scribbleprints Blog Party and link back to the main blog party post!    (1 entry)
    2. Put the Blog Party Button in your sidebar. (1 entry)

Remember, when you share about the party, not only do you get an entry here , but when someone mentions you sent them in their Blog Party Post comment, you BOTH get a prize if they win.  Make sure to tell people to mention you by the same name you post under below (I suggest first name and last initial in case someone else with the same name posts).  Make sure to include a link to  the main party page  when you share, and make sure to leave a separate comment below for each way you shared!  The main party page is at :
    1. E-mail your friends about the party.
    2. Share about the party on Facebook.
    3. Twitter about the party.
    4. Share about the party on a forum you're a member of (only if they allow links and this wouldn't be considered spam).

Winners will be announced on this blog on November 2nd.  Winners who fail to claim their item by November 8 will forfeit it.

Click on the images above to get a larger version to print. These printouts are free for you and your kids to use. They can be used as coloring pages in schools, day-cares, churches, or of course, at home. They may NOT be re-posted on another website or used commercially without my permission. You may, however, post pictures of the print-outs you or your child has colored on your personal, non-commercial website or blog (or on flickr, facebook, or other social networking sites).

To enter to win a fun Blog Party Favor post a picture of one of my coloring pages you or your kids have colored. I'm giving one prize to the first person who shares a picture automatically - and another too one other person chosen at random.   You can include a link to your family friendly website or blog, or if you don't have one, just use as your link, since the linky won't let you post without a URL.  You do not need to leave a comment to enter, but if you would like to be notified by e-mail (not by a comment on your blog or by checking back on November 2nd to see who won), you can leave a comment below stating your e-mail and the name you posted the picture under.
